I haven't found a good trail run yet in Canada. At Cowichan, good run on the roads outside the campground, nice and hilly and quiet.

This morning we drove back towards Victoria and headed north to catch the ferry from Swartz Bay to Vancouver.

Fun on the ferry again. We listened to a naturalist talk about the lifecycle of trash in the ocean. Peter and Jack played the role of two pieces of trash quite well.

Some nice views along the seaside walk. Absolutely glorious evening. Sun was out, lots of people out walking or biking.

Funny driving on a highway again after a few days on twisty, picturesque roads. Got into Vancouver. We stayed at a hotel right in the middle of city centre, Riviera on Robson. We walked out in the evening for a bit of sightseeing but Jack would have none of it so it did not last long. So far, Vancouver looks like a beatiful but well lived-in city.

Kids lasted for an hour. Ice cream and then back to the hotel. Nadia baby sat and Andrew and I got a chance to go out for an hour. We found this weird bar just a couple of blocks away. Gosh, Canadians are funny. Mostly locals in the bar but I got the feeling the some tourists frequent once in a while. Barmaid knows all the locals really well. It was great listening in to all the conversations. I love how Canadians speak!

Midnight adventure with Nadia and Peter doing laundry at the hotel, running up and down the stairs and elevator races :)

I am not sure what to think of Vancouver yet. Looks like a city worthy of exploring but I have the feeling that I won't have a chance to explore it too much his visit.
